vinyl!
vinyl!

Hi everyone! We promise we won't spam this many updates once the campaign is over! :)

Just wanted to announce that thanks to our partners at iam8bit, we are officially adding  signed vinyl as an add-on! As was forewarned, because it's a 3-disc set with lots of logistics involved, we have to offer them at $100 + shipping. As with the other add-on's, shipping will be calculated later but we'll do our very best to keep it under control. We promise these are going to be really special.

PLEASE NOTE the image here is temp art. In fact, as our artist extraordinaire Angela Bermudez works on the artwork in the coming months, we'll provide backer-exclusive work-in-progress updates. AND, to sweeten the deal, for anyone whose tier includes the "Creative Advisor," you'll get to help weigh in on the final product through feedback, voting, etc! :)

THANK YOU!!!

More details to come but for this moment OMG!!!!

We will post about stretch goals tomorrow. Let's make these last few days EPIC!!!

THANK YOU EVERYONE!!!!

The last week! :)
about 6 years ago – Sun, Apr 08, 2018 at 01:05:54 AM

Hi folks! As of this writing, there are 983 of you supporting this campaign, which is ASTONISHING!!! It really is profoundly moving that so many people, in just a few weeks, have jumped in to help make sure that A LIGHT IN THE VOID will actually happen and be all that it can be. And particularly, in the last few days there's been a big, noticeable increase of support. So THANK YOU again and again. We're so close! 95% funded and just over $3,500 to go!

Just wanted to alert you to a few specific things! First off, we've added one final composer demo review! Composer Neal Acree!

As with the others, there are only 2 slots available, so if you have any composer friends, please let them know. Neal was one of the creative voices behind such scores as OVERWATCH, DIABLO III, STARCRAFT II, WORLD OF WARCRAFT and a host of others.

Also, we WILL be adding vinyl starting Monday! So a proper update will be going out about that! Stand by :)

Lastly, we're going to do a bunch of posts on our various platforms highlighting specific rewards, so if you have any friends/family that might think a given reward (like the Science + Art treasure trove, etc) is especially suited to their interest, hopefully we'll give you something useful to share.

Onwards to the finish line and thank you all again!!!

The final stretch!
about 6 years ago – Wed, Apr 04, 2018 at 12:42:44 AM

Hi everyone, just a quick update to say we are in the final stretch! Under two weeks, just under 900 backers, and just about 90% funded!!

None of this would have been possible without you. We will have some new announcements coming soon too. We're trying to leverage every ounce of momentum with the campaign to close down some deals / partnerships so that we can reveal them before the campaign ends on the 13th. More on that later! :) Please read to the bottom of this update, as there is an important question below!

As always, your shares, pledge increases and word-of-mouth make a HUGE difference. We've seen so many of you share this or post about it in the last few days and it's incredible. There's also been a big uptick in engagement from the scientific community itself! Check out some of these examples:

Some of these folks might not be household names the way Stephen Hawking is, but these are some of the top scientists in the world, to be sure! It's immensely exciting to see their support!

One final question: we are getting a deal in place to make vinyl albums available! Because the sheer length of this show (approx. 2 hours we're anticipating) this would be a pretty big album. 3 double-sided discs, minimum. As such, the baseline costs would likely force the album to retail around $100, which we know is far from cheap.

So here's the big question: if we offered it as part of the campaign, would you be willing up to raise your pledge to get in on it early? We are looking at ways to make an extra special limited run of Kickstarter-specific copies, but want to gauge the interest.  Just leave comments here and we'll go from there.

Thank you again!!

Announcements from the stream today!
about 6 years ago – Sat, Mar 31, 2018 at 12:52:11 AM

ANNOUNCING!! Tina Guo, the incredible cello superstar, will be joining A LIGHT IN THE VOID!! Tina and Austin have worked together for upwards of 10 years and she is the heart and soul of his score to JOURNEY, as well as a centrally featured soloist in ASSASSIN'S CREED SYNDICATE.

Beyond Austin's work, she's a noteworthy regular collaborator with Hans Zimmer, performing on scores like SHERLOCK HOLMES, INCEPTION and as the electric cello 'voice' of WONDER WOMAN!

Tina will have a standout part of LITV and we can't wait to unleash her! BUT, it gets better!

$400: A customized Wintory ringtone, performed by Tina Guo!
$400: A customized Wintory ringtone, performed by Tina Guo!

Tina has agreed to perform up to 20 custom-written, personalized ringtones which Austin will compose for backers at the $400 level. This is a special opportunity, considering the extreme busyness of her schedule (not to mention that she is doing this to support LITV; her recording rate is, needless to say, quite above this!).

AND another amazing prize!!

$800: A customized Troy Baker outgoing voicemail greeting!
$800: A customized Troy Baker outgoing voicemail greeting!

Voice legend Troy Baker is lending his time to our campaign as well! He'll be recording a very select few custom outgoing voicemail greetings, and Austin will actually accompany them live on piano. Want Booker DeWitt, or Joel or the Joker or any of his other enumerable iconic characters to be your greeting? We've got you covered :)
